After standing in line at the Customer Service desk, I was able to book a flight from Chicago to Newark, to Charles de Gualle... At least I wouldn't hold Julie up in Germany. However, she didn't have the train tickets. Which is bad, as apparently EuroRail doesn't refund tickets less than 3 days in advance of the trip AND you have to have mailed them back your tickets! They couldn't even print her one to use as we had already paid for them! So, yea, they are on my short list... I'm thinking... don't buy tickets from EuroRail in the future.
United also didn't pay for my hotel in Chicago, as the delay was weather related. They did at least give me a number to reserve a half-way sketchy hotel room by the airport at a discounted rate. Nothing is better than booking a room at a hotel you know nothing about and then calling to have their shuttle pick you up and standing around asking people if they are your driver. I went to bed super frustrated.
