Since we all know that we'd get bored if all I did was turn this into a blog about what I get from Plated, I decided to combine a bunch of posts together (ok, and well, I'm behind) and make one big post highlighting the plates I've made.

I'm just a girl who grew up in Oklahoma with a deep enjoyment of old school country music. Growing up, I listed to Bob Wills, George Jones, Clint Black. I remember Garth Brooks, the little guy from Oklahoma, setting up 5 night of shows at Driller's Stadium back when it was still at the Fairgrounds in Tulsa, OK. When I saw that Garth Brooks was going back on tour, I was excited. Then come to find out that the tour was coming to Lexington's Rupp Arena, right in town, I knew I should see if I could get any interest of people to come with me and to go. Additionally, I needed a pick-me-up. Life had gotten difficult and I needed an escape. Luckily, one of my colleagues at work was also a fan, so we set out to get tickets. Ah, it was a morning of dueling phones, dueling website refreshes, and lots of chat messages. We both went in to order tickets, we both waited "in line" online for hours, before I was pushed through to place an order! The celebration could be heard along the length of the hall between our office. We were going to see Garth Brooks. I'd never been in Rupp Arena. I'm going to have to say, it was a disappointment. It's small, there's no backs on the seats. Our seats, however, were straight up from the side of the stage. Thankfully, the concert was planned on being seen from all angles, so the real plus was how close the seats really were in comparison to others in the venue. I have to say, for Garth Brooks being around as long as his has been (oh, wait, he retired for how many years before this come back?) he put on a good performance. I remember hearing his 5 nights straight of outdoor concerts back in Oklahoma as a teen back in the late-1990s. Drove me crazy, only because I didn't want to listen to it every night. Don't get me wrong, I love a number of his songs (Rodeo, Unanswered Prayers, Friends in Low Places, anyone?). It was great to finally get to see him perform in person. Before he retires. Again.
